Isn't it the cutest camera bag you've ever seen? I love all the outside

Listen to this song I put it first on my playlist. I LOVE "I Love Lucy"!!!
I always imagined playing this song and somehow telling my husband
the news in some special way. But I was also planning on this special
day happening in a couple of years;-) Anyway I decided to announce the
great news to everyone... though I think by now most everyone knows!!
It's been hard for Rich to keep quite;-) It was a complete surprise to
Rich and I both. When I was really 'late' I didn't think anything of it, then
my sister suggested I take the test. I went out and bought one but didn't
take it until a little over a week later. I just really believed there was NO
way possible we could really be pregnant. I just wanted to share our
excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to be parents SO soon!
It will be quite the adventure. So far everything is going really
well. It was AMAZING to hear our little baby's heartbeat for the first
time!! YAY! Grad school and a baby... how could life possibly get any better?!

I am so excited!!!!!! I can't hardly contain myself... Rich thinks I'm being a little silly

right now... BUT I'm not;-) I just want to shout out to the WHOLE world our great

news!!! A couple of weeks ago Rich finished all of his Grad School applications... SO

we've been playing the waiting game. And we have been expecting to wait for a few

more weeks before we would start hearing back. We just found out he got accepted

to the 1st school he applied to!!! YAY!! I am SOOO ECSTATIC!!!! Rich got accepted

to Texas State University in San Marcos Texas!!! It's the biggest and one of the best

geography programs in the US!! We're still waiting to here from the other schools...

BUT let me tell you I would be EXTREMELY HAPPY to be living in Texas! Plus

Boyd's sister and family live right in the area so it would be great to be close to them!!

I just want to share this news to the whole world... I've already woken up my family...

YAY! What a great night!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

It's been awhile since our last post. I can't believe we're more than half way through
February!! This past month has been really great for Rich and I. Nothing too eventful
has happened... but it's been fun!

School is a bit less busy this semester which has been SO GREAT! Rich is loving his
research and I am loving counting the days down until we finish;-) Only 2 months to go!
Graduate applications are all turned in now... so we're all just waiting! It's so nice to be
able to check something off the list of to dos.

On Valentine's Day Rich and I went to Red Robin... I have been wanting to go there for
a long time... it was great! And sweet Rich bought me flowers and rented the movie Mama Mia!!!
I couldn't believe it!
I went to go see it with Abby awhile ago and then she gave me
the CD for my birthday... and well Rich has gotten pretty tired of the music;-) BUT he
rented it on Saturday and sat through it with me! Might I add he DID enjoy it too!
Just maybe not so
much when after the movie was over I kept playing some of the sing-a-longs and having
him dance and be silly with me. Rich is the BEST!!! He makes me so happy! I don't know
how I got this lucky!

Then yesterday on our day off we went my FAVORITE place to eat... L&L Hawaiian BBQ.
It may not sound that exciting to anyone else... BUT I LOVE IT!! Katsu Chicken...

YUMMY!!! That is one place I will miss when we leave!

This month I got to work on taking more photos... I've slacked off in that department...
but I will be updating with the few I've taken;-)

A White Christmas

Christmas morning is always full of such excitement! I just can't explain all the excitement expressed by the boys! I LOVE IT!! It's just so magical! After opening presents we all had breakfast and played with our gifts. Then got ready for the day and headed to Boyd's parents for the rest of Christmas day! It's always so fun to go other there! Especially this Christmas since Boyd's sister and family came up here! They moved away so the cousins don't get to play together all the time like they use to. It was a great Christmas day!!

Christmas Eve 2008

Today we cleaned the house and got ready for our Christmas Eve celebration! Santa came to visit us tonight and give us a preview to all the excitement of Christmas day! For Christmas Eve our tradition is to have a fancy dinner where we all dress up. Then we do some activity like work on a puzzle. Finally we read about the birth of Christ and acted it out with puppets and sing lots of songs on the piano... and this year to Keegan playing the violin and Josh playing the piano. It was great! It was also SO fun to see all the boys excitement for Santa! They sure rushed to bed that night... not that they could fall asleep too quickly!

We also all have a sleepover every Christmas Eve... it’s always been our tradition!

RipCity!!!

The snow is still amazing! In Hillsboro the depth reached to 24 inches! We enjoyed the morning playing outside with neighbors which we all enjoyed. We then ran some errands... and THEN went to Costa Vida and the Blazers game!! All thanks to Boyd... he is beyond the best!! Costa Vida is the boys favorite place to go... the boys referring to Rich and Boyd. They both LOVE this place. After Costa Vida we rode the MAX into Portland for the Blazer game! We all had a great time at the game. I LOVE going! I never thought I would like Basketball so much... but having Rich and Boyd get so into it has made me really love watching it. Especially now that I am getting to know the players and their strengths. I also love going to the games and watching my family get SO into it! Yelling and cheering... it just makes for the best experience! I am so grateful for all the memories we are able to make together!

We all played outside again today! After playing around our home we went sledding just a few miles away from home. We spent a good chunk of the afternoon out there! We could get some really great speed off the hill and we all had some pretty awesome crashes! Who would of thought we could spend the afternoon sledding so close to home? It was a blast!

A Day Inside!

Today was the Sabbath and yep you guessed it... church was cancelled. The previous day Bishop sent everyone an email saying to plan on a normal Sunday. My sister was pretty excited since she was hoping for a smaller crowd during her talk... o well. We'll all be there next week listening to her! Yipee I'm excited! Mar will do great! She is AMAZING... I can't even express how grateful I am for her and how blessed I am to have such a loving sister! Anyway since we spend the day at home we took advantage of the time to play lots of family games, make yummy sugar cookies and then go to the Greenhaulgh's to sind Christmas songs, enjoy teats and play more! We all had a great time... they are like family! FYI we still have a TON of snow! It just hasn't stopped snowing. We are having record snow depths... about 17 inches now! It's truly amazing! Yipee!

Our 1st Day Finally Home!

We are finally done with finals and are at home sweet home! I couldn't ask for anything more than to be home with my family... I love it! This winter we are having quite the snowstorm. It definitely beats the one we had senior year. Yesterday we had 10 inches of snow at our house! It was a blast! This is a rare event here in Oregon. And when it snows like this everything shuts down;-) There is no school, no church, no leaving the house! It's pretty fun! In Utah it snows all the time but the roads all always clear and life goes on... that's not the case here! The roads are all covered! We don't really have any snow plows and the state of Oregon doesn't believe in using salt on the road;-) So we're stuck... and like I said it's been a blast!

This year we were able to spend Thanksgiving in Ione! We took a whole week off to spend with family, relax and have a great time. It was sure a blast!!

Saturday morning we all headed out to Scott Johnson's home in Grantsville. It was SO much fun! We first went out and did some shooting and then came back to a wonderful lunch prepared by Scott's mom and a cozy fun place to watch the BYU vs. Air Force game (We won!)

After our trip up to Grantsville we hurried home to make dinner and get things together for sweet Jen's birthday! We had family and friends over to celebrate Jen's big day...21 years old! We all enjoyed dinner, lots of sweets, a birthday cake, Jen opening her presents, lots of chatting, and just hanging out! Later as things died down it was just Wyatt & Jen, Miranda & Justin, and Rich & I playing games and talking! We all had a great time... I know I did!!

Chase and Callie had a lot of fun... yay! Here's Chase doing a flip on Rich. It was also fun throwing Chase and Callie on our bed and watching them jump on it! They loved it! So while they were jumping on the bed someone upstairs turns on the water. We live in an old home so of course its loud going through the pipes. When the water is turned on, Chase just freezes and his eyes get all big. I explained to him what it was and then the rest of the night everytime the water came on... his eyes still got big but he was like "that's just the water".

Last night Rich got a black eye during the flag football game. His eye was all puffy last night and he woke up with some color and his eye half shut. It actually looks much better in this photo! Besides the injury he had some great plays and it was a fun game to go to!

Rich got teased all day from his professors and friends saying, "Did you and the wife have a good fight last night?" He really enjoyed that... not;-)

I love the winter season! I love the weather, the holidays, the music, and of course the sports... i.e SKIING! I am especially excited for Christmas... I've already started the celebration! Anyway, I haven't really felt homesick since freshman year... until now! I can't wait to go home!! I miss Mom, Mary, Boyd, and all the kids! I especially can't wait to spend time with the boys! I miss them all SO much!

I hope I have a girl that looks just like Mia someday!

I am in the worst shape I have ever been in... BUT my sister has been such a good motivation for me. The past couple of weeks we have gone running together. It's been a struggle for me. Anyway here are the kids all ready for the ride!

Last night Ben and Libby came over to hang out! It was a TON of fun! Ben and Libby are such a cute couple... they just fit together SO well! I am excited for their wedding;-)

Our Halloween Festivities

Our Halloween night was great! It started off by me doing great on a Chem exam... which I am so grateful for! Then after school Rich and I came home, cleaned up a bit and had little Bryce over! Here are some photos of us playing outside. He's got the cutest little chuckle!

We threw him around a lot! We would say 1, 2, 3 and then throw he up in the air or to each other. It was cute because when we would stop he would start saying 1, 2, 3 himself!

Later Miranda and Justin returned with pizza and treats... and the Halloween fun began!

Here's a picture of Bryce and Abby. Bryce really enjoyed painting his pumpkin. I thought that was such a great idea Miranda had since he's too little to carve one yet. He knew exactly what he was doing, dipping the paint brush and then painting! It was so cute to watch!

Trick or Treating

Then we went trick or treating around our neighborhood! It was SO fun watching Bryce out there! He really enjoyed it... who would have thought that a 1 year old would do as great as he did!

Miranda and Justin would ring the doorbell and Bryce would just stand there happily waiting! Then of course everyone that came to the door absolutely loved him... how can you not?! He would also talk to the people that opened the door and would get so excited! It was fun to watch.

After Trick or Treating Wyatt and Jen came over to our place and we watched the Incredible Hulk. Miranda also made some of her chocolate peanut butter rice krispies... yummy!

The Boys... and Mia!

I sure missed not being with my family for Halloween! I am missing out on so many of the little things!

Mia is now crawling... I just can't picture it! I miss not being able to interact with her! She used the boys' old costumes this Halloween. She was a pumpkin for one party and a dinosaur for another.. she is adorable!

I talked to Nolan on the phone for a bit today. He was telling me about his Halloween... he loved going to the ward party the other day. He thinks he is such a big boy;-) Here's a funny story... The other day while Mary was feeding Mia, Nolan comes up to her and tells her he needs to go to the bathroom. Mary told him to go and he does, returning only minutes later. When he returns he brings with him the vacuum tube extension. He put one end in the toilet and well he used the other end for himself but he assured Mary is was OK because he already cleaned it! O Nolan;-) What 3 year old thinks of doing something like that? No one can deny he is the most clever little boy out there!

Keegan was a Star Wars character for Halloween. I didn't get a full report on him but I was asking Mary what was new with him. To sum it all up... he is the most perfect child and best brother ever! Yesterday for Josh's soccer party they went to a pizza place. Keegan played with and watched over Nolan the whole time. He is best friends with Josh. And here's the cutest thing ever... On Saturday mornings when Keegan hears that Mia is awake in her crib he runs into mom and dad's room and asks them if he can go in and see Mia. He then climbs in the crib with her and sings to her! I don't think Josh and Nolan would think to do that on their own. Keegan is just the sweetest boy in the world! I love him!

Happy Halloween! What a great looking bunch!

Josh skipped out on the trick or treating this year and went to a Blazers game with Dad. He loves the Blazers! He knows quite a bit about everyone on the team... I have never met someone his age that knows as many stats and is as interested in professional sports as he is;-) Dad has taught him well!

Boyd also participated in the Halloween festivities! He dressed up as Michael Phelps! During the Olympics my family ordered the Phelps swim caps. So Boyd wore that with goggles, a swim parka with Phelps and the American flag on the back and on the front pocket and then of course the ipod. To finish the outfit he had eight gold metals hanging around his neck. He went to work like that! How great is that? Boyd would be the best boss ever! He works hard and always goes above and beyond whatever is required AND still he knows how to have fun with everything in life! He is the best example to me of someone who has the right priorities in life and works their hardest!

Thanks for Katie who provided us with our costumes Rich was a helicopter flight pilot and I was an army nurse. Look at Rich... isn't he just look spooky;-) I think the gas mask is so cool!

This is an actual uniform of Katie's from her service in the army... I think the nurses outfits use to be so cute. Nowadays the dress standard for the profession just aren't the same.

We won 42-35! YAY! I was actually a little worried... it was too close of a game. But it was fun to watch and enjoy the warm weather we had that day!

The Halloween Festivities Begin

I clogged the sink today! We had a few eggs that had expired and so I figured I could put them down the drain and turn on the disposal. Wouldn’t you think? Anyway I definitely clogged it! Both sinks side by side we’re filling up. I turned off the water and kept the disposal going. Then turned that off. The water FINALLY went down. I then continued on with my day and forgot about it. Later when Rich and I came home I asked Rich to rinse off the pumpkins we were going to carve. The sink started filling up again! Rich finally took the toilet plunger and after plugging for awhile he seemed to fix the problem. I would have never thought of doing that. So far it's all good... some of the joys of living in an old home;-)

Rich worked so hard all day long! Just a few minutes ago he finished and turned in his proposal for an ORCA grant. One more item to check off the list. I am very impressed with how hard he has been working on his school work and research this semester. Anyway while he was working on campus I attended Kirsten’s baby shower! We went to Spain together and I absolutely love her! She is 34 weeks along with twins boys! She looks great! I have to mention though it was kind of crazy going to the baby shower. I didn’t know anyone there, BUT all the girls either had huge bellies, or a little one or two month old in their car seats. Boy, did I feel out of place... but it was all so cute! It was fun to see Kirsten! I am excited for her! She’ll be a wonderful mom! I also have to mention a conversation Rich and I had. Rich has a feeling we are going to have twins someday... haha I don’t know about that. But his dad is a twin and so I said if we have twins we can name them Rich and Ron. Boy did his face light up!! He is so excited to someday have a little Rich and Ronny in the family;-)

After the baby shower Steph and Manual came over. We carved awesome pumpkins. It’s been a tradition of theirs since they met and we joined them this year. It was a lot of fun! I think they turned out pretty good. We then watched the second Harry Potter. They love the Harry Potter movies and Rich and I have never seen them before. So last week we watched the first Harry Potter and tonight the second. We enjoyed it.

Horseback riding in Highland

This past weekend has just gone by too fast! I can't believe I have class, work and a test again tomorrow... it never stops ;-) BUT this weekend was a lot of fun! On Friday my good friend Steph and her hubby came over and we had delicious food, hung out and watched a movie. It was a fun relaxing night! It seems to be a rare occasion when we spend a night at home to just relax and enjoy an evening. We spend most our days and nights on campus just to get home right in time for bed. Or else when we have a free night we usually spend it else where. It was fun to have friends over at our place! Thanks guys!

Then Saturday after working and taking a PDBio test we headed up to Highland. I have been wanting to ride horses for a long time now and we finally got the chance. Thank you Rodger! I used to ride a ton when I was little, but it has been about ten years. I was surprised how uncomfortable I felt. I thought it would just naturally come back... but that was not the case. I felt like I had no balance at all. It was a lot of fun though! I was impressed with Rich and Miranda, it seemed like it was pretty natural to them. After riding, we went out, got some food and rented a movie. We got the weirdest movie... well I only watched a few minutes before falling asleep... but everyone agreed it was STRANGE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOLAN!! Today is Nolan's Birthday! He is now 3 years old! Fall is sure packed with a ton of family birthdays... It's so fun! I just wanted to let Nolan know how much I love him! Nolan is the smartest and most sneaky 3 year old I know. I love it... my sister not so much at times;-) Nolan is so handsome and only has gotten more handsome as time goes by! I am grateful for Nolan and how much fun he adds to our family! I look forward to talking to him on the phone most everyday and love how he always asks Rich and I to come to his house. I wish it was just that easy to go home all the time!

Sunday October 12th was my 22nd birthday! On Saturday I went to work, to the BYU football game, then after the game Rich took me out for some yummy Chinese food! I love Chinese food! He also got me just what I ask for... a book called the Mormon Scientist: The Life and Faith of Henry Eyring. I have been wanting to read this for awhile now, so I'm excited to finally get the chance. My best friend Stephi and her hubby came over after that!

Then on Sunday, my actual Birthday, we went to church and then after church we headed up to Highland for Garrett's Eagle Court of Honor. Mara made a yummy dinner and we had a joint celebration for Garrett and I. Alyssa also made a Funfetti cake... the Curran favorite! I had a lot of fun and got some great gifts. I sure am lucky to have such good family and friends! My awesome gifts included: the O Jerusalem painting my Mommy gave us, a canvas of one of our wedding photos from Boyd and Mary, the Mama Mia soundtrack from Abby (which I have listened to a bunch already, I love it!), a cookbook and a bunch of fun candles and great lotions from my best friend Stephi, cutest Anne Taylor shirt from Julie, a lotion and chocolate from Alyssa, and movie tickets from Mara & Roger. Miranda also gave me a box full of See's Chocolates and Mom and Dad were very generous as well with some cash! Thank you so much for the gifts!! I also got the best home made cards from my nephews: Josh, Keegan, & Nolan. I was spoiled! BUT I have to say my favorite gift is the one shown above! Keegan learned Happy Birthday on the violin for me and the boys sung along! They also called me Sunday morning and performed it over the phone a few times! Nolan then continued to sing me Happy Birthday another 10 times or so... I loved it!

Miranda also had her birthday this week! Her birthday was yesterday October 14th. Rich and I went to go visit her for a awhile (A much needed break between school, work, and STUDYING!)... and she shared possibly the most delicious gift EVER! Justin spoiled her with some great gifts... one including a whole Godiva Chocolate cheesecake from the Cheesecake factory! O man... that is by far MY FAVORITE! It's incredibly rich and next time anyone goes to the Cheesecake Factory it's a must have! I forgot to take my camera last night... so no birthday photos:-( But HAPPY BIRTHDAY Miranda!

I also have to mention some of the traits I really admire about Miranda! She is a great example to me on some of the things I drastically need to improve on... especially the first two!
1. She is a cleaning machine. She doesn't just keep her place looking nice... she is the epitome of cleanliness.
2. Great cook! She can quickly pull a great tasting meal together for a crowd!
3. Generous! She is a great example of generosity. She has given and helped Rich and I out so much! (ex. a place to do laundry, food, furniture, decor, help cleaning, & the list goes on)
4. I can always trust she is being sincere and truthful. Miranda speaks her mind and never puts up a facade and I think it's great!

I also have to share a quick funny story about Miranda. Miranda has been telling everyone Rich and I are studying for our GED... haha. I sure am glad that's not the case. Rich and I are going to be taking the GRE on the 28th of this month... so we've been studying for that! Man if we were working on a GED we would have a very long way to go! I guess that's one thing to be grateful for... we won't be in school too much longer;-)

Saturday's football game was a fun game. We played New Mexico and won 21-3! Right now we are ranked #9 in the AP poll and #8 for the USA Today Poll! Our next game is this Thursday October 16th against TCU. Go Cougars!

Date Night with Julie and Ryan Townsend

On Friday Rich and I went out to Salt Lake to spend some time with one of my best friends from junior high and high school! She ate lunch with me on my first day of school when I moved to Oregon. I thought that was so nice of her. It was... BUT last night I came to find out the teacher asked her if she'd be willing to eat lunch with the new girl. Haha! I guess I have my teacher to thank;-) It was so much fun going out to dinner and a movie and then heading up to their condo at the Gateway to just chat and hang out! Julie is such a great friend of mine and I am glad I got to spend some time with her! Julie and her husband Ryan are in Utah for an internship he is doing at LDS Hospital... he is applying to med schools! I wish them all the luck! Hopefully we'll get to spend some more time with them before they head back to the Northwest!

Miriam... or should I say Sister Walther!

This past week Miriam finally entered the MTC! She got her call on June 5th (the day I got endowed!) so she has had to wait FOREVER. I am so excited for her and I am going to miss her tons! Miriam has a strong testimony of the gospel and love for the Savior. I know she will be so successful down in Peru! I am also excited she will be learning Spainsh... she'll be a pro before she knows it! She's a great example to me. I promised her I'd run a marathon while she's gone. I am behind now. I didn't run one this year! Miriam and I made a goal freshman year to run a marathon each year... she has stuck with it! Now that she's on a mission I have an opportunity to catch up!

GLBRM Reunion

The Great Louisiana Baton Rouge Mission! Rich's 4th reunion... can you believe that?! I can't... he's been home almost 3 1/2 years now! The way he talks it seems like he just got home. I love hearing his mission stories. They are all great and are such a big part of who he is today. It was fun to watch him talk to old companions. They were all so excited to see one another and they like each other so much! It's funny too... all these guys are so different! They probably would not have ever become friends in any other situation... but alas serving the Lord they grew to know each other and have a blast together. All in all it was a great night... Oh I also have to mention... we were there for 4 hours! Rich wanted to leave at 4:30pm so we wouldn't be late... we got there at 5:30pm. There was no traffic at all... rare for mission reunion night in Utah county/ Salt Lake areas. Well, after we were there for a while we realized it didn't start until 7pm! Time went by fast though... Rich could have stayed there even longer. Anyway I can't wait until Rich and I go on a mission... SEVERAL I hope! I so desire that we will be blessed with many opportunities to serve in our lives... and I am very excited for it all!

This weekend we went out to dinner and a movie with Mason and Alyssa. We saw Eagle Eye and then enjoyed some yummy food at Pei Wei! I am pretty sure we all enjoyed the movie, I know I did. Cannon Beach

Last Saturday we went to Cannon Beach! We all had such a fun day! The best part I think was riding our bikes on the beach. My mom even rode since we got a tandem bike (she never learned how to ride a bike) ! We all took turns riding with Mom... my Mom is so much fun! Every time someone would get close to her bike she would start yelling... you're too close! Then of course when we rode together I made us crash! Sorry Mom... it hurt! After riding bikes we played around Haystack rock and looked at all the cool starfish, crabs, etc. This is where Rich and I took some of our wedding pics! We then played in the water, made sand structures, and played some soccer!

There was this skate park at Cannon Beach the boys wanted to go on, so before we left Rich, Josh, and Keegan rode their bikes in it! We then stopped on the drive home at Camp 18! It's this really cool restaurant... it was a great way to end the trip. Thank you Boyd!

Two nights while we were in Oregon we camped out in the back yard. It was a lot of fun. We played games until late and then slept on some comfy air mattresses. It was way better then sleeping on colder rocky ground like Rich and I did on our last camping trip!

Ever since Rich started coming up to Oregon he has wanted to go to a game at PGE park... and this summer we finally did! We had such a great time at the game! We got to take the boys to the game... well Josh and Nolan anyway! Keegan stayed behind to hang out with mom and dad and had so much fun himself:-) At the game Josh and Nolan got some free hats and after the game Rich took them down and one of the players signed them! Rich, Josh, and Nolan almost caught a ball too... maybe next time! Right now in fact the boys are enjoying another game... Mariners vs. Yankees. The family went up to Seattle for this game and then the BYU vs. Washington game tomorrow. Go Mariners! Go Cougars! I wish Rich and I could have stayed one more week... darn school;-)

We all had a great time at the Bee's game last night! Good food, good game, and great company all in a suite... Woohoo! Again thanks to the Jensen's generousity! I've always heard how amazing Lake Powell is... I can now say for myself it is AMAZING! Thanks to the best family in the world we went out and played hard and played long for as much as our bodies could take... and I think everyone is feeling it to some extend at the present time. Woohoo! We finally got a sneak preview of our wedding pictures. Our wedding day went PERFECTLY!! Rich and I couldn't be happier with it all! We feel so blessed to be able to get married in the temple for time and all eternity! Our day was just full of happiness! We are grateful for all our family and friends that came to our wedding!
